2017 Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2017 vintage was (hopefully) a once in a lifetime experience. There was record rain, heat, and then fire. The grapes for this wine were picked pre-fire and were ready to press the day after the fires started. The result is a complete, world class Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. A deep purple, full bodied wine with concentrated notes of dark fruit, particularly blueberry, cocoa powder, and graphite. A robust, yet polished, tannin structure frames the rich and lingering finish.
2018 Krutz Pinot Noir 'Soberanes Vineyard, Santa Lucia Highlands
Fully desteemed before fermenting in a 50 hL French oak tank. It is medium full in body with notes of black cherry, raspberry, and violets with a savory component and an integrated oak influence. The wine has a rich and ripe tannin structure with good acidity that will age gracefully.
2018 Krutz Chardonnay 'Soberanes Vineyard, Santa Lucia Highlands
A blend between the new world Old Wente clone and the old world Montrachet clone. Aged sur lie for the life of the wine, there is a richness and complexity in texture that balances the present and refreshing acidity. Tropical fruit and the expected minerality from the Soberanes Vineyard are on full display with a backing of subtle oak and a lingering finish of lemon zest.
